second day of work

I forgot when was the last time i went training
probably last year around this time
i forgot how quick I pick things up until today
when i went training again
I remember the last time I went training
I was at the head office for one day and the next day I m already helping to train the other people
that's why at this new job
when i have ONE WEEK to be trained
I was really really really bored....
I m not proud or anything...
I think I am just a bit too quick...
sigh... what m I going to do for the next 4 days???????

wollongong
Went to Wollongong today for a market/exhibition held by Emma-Lee from the Milk Thieves Art & Design
Most of the people think that I m crazy to spend 2 hours on the road for a 3 hours exhibition
But I think it's definately worth to go
At the market
You meet different people, you have the first hand information from your customers, who like your stuffs and who doesn't
You get chances to talk to them, tell them how you make things
When I heard "I really like your designs" or "Julian is such a great photographer"
My heart melted
And then you gotta know creative people around you, like Sarah and Lauren from Thread and the lady who had the stall opposite to mine, who was a radiographer 5 years ago, I can't remember her name but she is the nicest person I've ever met
Meeting all these people
You feel not alone
To be honest, doesn't matter how many friends you have, none of them can understand exactly how you feel unless they're in the same industry
To be able to talk to the local designers is like a stress relief for me
Crafters/ Designers and the crowd in Wollongong are so different from Sydney
although we're in the same state
people are so much different there at Wollongong especially the customers
You feel so much more welcomed and appreciated
Well
I think it's worth to come all the way there
I rather spend my whole day at the stall instead of at the office
doesn't matter if i made money or not
it's my business, it'y my money, it's my stocks, it's mine, it's all mine
Thank you Emma-Lee and all the other people for today

website up and running

I (finally) have updated the long-lost website and now it's (kind of) up and running. I am happy to announce that my brand Tamptation has decided to move a step forward to become a collaborative brand with some local artists. My friend Julian Gallardo is the first one on board and I can't wait to see how far we can go from here. After almost 2 years absent to designs and market, I feel so good to be back. I feel so good to finally do something that I totally love.

I won a year supply of TIM TAM
When I told my friend that nobody actually believed me. Not even myself believed that email I saw in my gmail account. I thought it must be a spam ! But hell no.... the box of 24 arrived yesterday and I will get another box in April, same thing. Lucky I got it around Christmas time so everyone in the office get a pack of Tim Tam, otherwise I don't know what to do... although it said it's a year supply, I am sure at the end of the 48 packs of Tim Tam, I won't want to eat Tim Tam for the rest of my life!!!
Anyway, here's the photo of the chilli and strawberry that I m growing!

what the...
I had a bottle of mud facial mask from New Zealand and I have been using it for awhile. Few days ago, I put the mask on, got myself a cup of tea, lied on the couch, made myself really comfortable and relax. I peeled a bit of the mask off while I was watching TV but then I fell asleep! I woke up (god knows how long) later and completely forgot I had the mask on my face and went to bed! The next morning I almost gave myself a heart-attack when I looked at myself in the mirror !! Since it's a mud mask, it's kind of green-ish and gray-ish, Oh My God, it's so scary coz it's half peeled, it's kind of look like Hong Kong foot, but it's on my face !!! EWWWWWW
Also because I have problem skin from time to time, so my first thought was "fxxk!!! what is wrong with my face!!!!" But when I looked at the mirror close enough, I realized it's the mask from last night... what a relief....

sydney hot hot hot
Sydney was so hot yesterday, reaching 41 degrees, even my undies are all soak with sweat!! I woke up at 7am to do some housework, then rush to the supermarket to get the newspaper and some food. Lucky it's quite cool in the morning, by the time I finished breakfast, the temperature started to rise, and it's SOOOOOOO HOT !!!! It feels like an oven outside. I wounder how can people live in the middle of Australia??? Are they constantly live in this kind of condition??? I think, if I step outside my home, I will be evaluated!!!
I have to close all the windows so that the cool air will stay in the house. I felt so lazy under the hot weather, but still, because there are a few shops waiting for my stocks, so I have to do some work at home.
After I finished the screen printing, I just jumped into the bath tub to wash the screen, and thank god for that, I actually got some relief from the hot weather !
The weather forecast said the cool air would arrived about 10pm, so I waited and waited and waited till 11pm, I couldn't wait any longer so I went to bed.
OH MY GOD!!! It was so hot I couldn't sleep, and about 2am, the wind started to come, and I couldn't sleep AGAIN coz the wind was so strong that it was banging my windows so hard I thought the whole window would collapse !!!
I think I fell asleep about 4am and this morning I felt like shit....

sculpture by the sea, sydney, australia
I heard about this event for so many years but yet this is the first time I went to Sculpture by the Sea. My friend Julian was suppose to be at my home by 9am but this guy was so late that we can't even have breakfast at the Bondi Iceberg cafe!
After lunch we went straight to the Bondi Walk and it's absolutely fantastic! The weather was great, not too hot, lots of people though.
SO many people! I love this sculpture!
This one is so cool !!
This was actually a real person !! Oh my God!! We all thought this poor fisherman was a sculpture and took a few pictures and then he started moving ! Oh no....
Sometimes we just don't know if that's actually a sculpture or what, we just take a photo of everything!
It's a shame that there's nothing much to explain the art works, somehow I wish there are more details like who the artist was, what's he/she wanted to explain to us. But yeh... on the other hand, art is difficult to explain, maybe this is what the artist wanted to explain, but you think it's another way round. I remember a songwriter/ musician once said, after she wrote that song, that song no longer hers, whatever the listeners think, it's alright. I think it's very true. All arts are the same.
We were only half way!! Mainly because we parked our car for 3 hours only and we spent like an hour at the restaurant waiting for food. Also my young friends are very weak and doesn't want to walk...

creative saturday
Finally got a time to stay at home, thanks to the serious wind storm on Wed, I was a bit freak out and the weather forecast said there would be another one today, so I decided to stay at home this weekend.
Anyway, made some bags and rubber stamps and I really like them, hopefully will make some sales on etsy.
